An Ghrianstad 2025

It is clear that winter solstice was a special and honoured threshold in the lives of our ancestors. Standing as a testament to resilience, the monuments of the Boyne Valley, Co. Meath were built to align with the source of light, the powerful sun at the centre of our solar system – and recognising the presence of light even at this threshold of greatest darkness.

Just as a seed holds a concentrated essence of the life force, wintertime is also a contraction; our daylight hours are few. This winter solstice retreat is an opportunity to honour a potent threshold in the turning of the year. Turning within through meditation and yoga practice we can invite clarity and poise, nourishing our true essence. We can create space for our creative dreams and imagination as we look to the year ahead, aligning with the return of the light to give power to our intentions.

I invite you to join me for a special gathering to mark this year’s winter solstice, an ghrianstad, when the sun seems to stand still. This weekend will allow time for creative practices to anchor your intentions, empowering yoga and meditation, deep relaxation and time in nature visiting sacred sites of this ancient landscape of the Boyne Valley.
