Design

Here are some online projects. Often I have created all of the content, including video and text. I like the immediacy of being able to create a discrete space online away from the noise and pressure of social media. If you feel inspired to share these spaces you may do so.

Some of these websites serve as a record of a moment in time. Others may be evolving and changing as time goes on.

Brian ‘O Murchú

In Memory of a Friend

A space to gather memories and community

I created this on the night I heard of Brian’s death. He lived who he was and was an inspiration to many people. One of the few people I could speak Irish with back when I lived in Cork city, Brian has been described as a “true celt” – he had a kind of child like joy, innocence and wildness that is rare. So this is to honour the fierce humility, soul, humanity, creativity and spirit of Brian ‘O Murchadha. A proud native Irish speaker, Brian was a dancer, a poet, an artist and a man very much committed to living in a way that was true to himself. He inspired many others through how he lived his life. He tried to help me and I know it was such an immense loss to know that he has left the land of the living but dances on the other side. Ar deis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Dolores Whelan

For this website I co wrote the content with the trailblazing author, spiritual teacher and facilitator Dolores Whelan. Her book ‘Ever ancient, Ever New’ is a wonderful introduction to the Irish Celtic Calendar.

I also created the short film clip to illustrate her work.

Feile na Saoirse

This was a festival that I organised together with some friends back in 2015 in Gaeltacht of Pollathomas, Co. Mayo. A key focus on Féile na Saoirse, (which means “Festival of Freedom”) was a celebration of heritage through building a currach and there was also a theme of sustainability and respect for nature connecting through the Irish language.

A high point of Feile na Saoirse was that Radio na Gaeltachta arrived and did a programme there interviewing local people and sharing about the building of the currach there in Pat Meehan’s shed. Currach builders Donal Mac Polin and Pádraig Ua Duinnín were key players in completing the boat which was launched finally into the bay at Sruthfadaconn.

Pollathomas is just across the water from where my father grew up and so I have personal ties to the area.

Education Co Creation

This was an initiative I started with some zoom meetings back in 2021. The idea was to find other home educating parents to collaborate with. I did also voluntary teaching on a course together with a group called ‘Zeeko’ for home educated children on Entrepreneurship and Creativity.

ABOUT

Some of these websites above serve as a record of a moment in time. Others may be evolving and changing in the form of a project that is developed as time goes on. Others still are aspirational place holders for something imagined and yet to be realised.
