Castlebar Primary School
TAP Artist’s Residency, 2023-24.
On this page I document and celebrate the wonderful creativity and imagination that blossomed among the children of 2nd class in Castlebar Primary school. This was a collaborative project together with teacher Maria Mulligan between October 2023 and June 2024.
Original Songs and Images
I created the following three videos to share the artwork created by the children and the songs that we composed together. The final recordings of the songs are available to listen to as part of the online version of their book and this can be accessed at the following link:
We had a special day in June 2024 when the children came together for a performance of their songs for the school community and their parents. The children celebrated with cake and a book was presented to each child. It is wonderful to see what can happen when we all work together and follow the joy of creativity and imagination ! Well done everybody. This was an exciting and very rewarding project to be part of. I really enjoyed working with the children and seeing how much they enjoyed exploring and being creative together.
The Book Launch
This is a short film created to mark the book launch when the children performed their original songs for their families and the school community. It was a very special day!
